Procedures ; The student's Thesis Supervisor and Supervisory Committee must first approve a transfer. ; The Thesis Supervisor must confirm that sufficient funds are available to provide the student with the minimum level of support for the duration of the Ph.D. program. ; The transfer must be approved by the Graduate Training Committee, who will then recommend to the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies office that a change of status take place.

Core Courses ; A normal course load for a beginning graduate student is three courses per term.
