A suspected burglar police say was fatally shot by a Denver homeowner early Monday morning was a teenager who was hit multiple times in the head. ; The incident happened at about 2:20 a.m. in the 3100 block of Gaylord Street, said Sonny Jackson a Denver Police Department spokesman. ; Jackson said police were summoned to the 3000 block of Gaylord by a burglary alarm. While patrol officers were investigating the alarm, they heard shots being fired on the next block. ; The shooting occurred at 3150 Gaylord St. and the man who was hit by the gunfire was taken to Denver Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, according to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.
