Proteolysis-free amoeboid migration of melanoma cells through crowded environmen

Highlights ; · Amoeboid cell migration can be path generating without proteolytic degradation ; · Paths are generated by worrying, i.e., a slow wearing down of matrix ; · Cells worry using large blebs at their front to break apart extracellular matrix ; · Directional persistence in worrying is maintained via multiple feedbacks

Spatial transcriptomics analysis identifies a tumor-promoting function of the meningeal stroma in melanom....

Highlights ; · Melanoma LMD has little immune infiltration but higher stromal involvement ; · Meningeal stroma is required for melanoma cells to survive in the CSF environment ; · Tumor-promoting effects of meningeal stroma are mediated via upregulation of SERPINA3

BCC is the most common type of carcinoma worldwide and is showing a worldwide increase in incidence2 . ; The sun-exposed areas of the head and neck are the most commonly involved sites . Approximately 80% occur on the head and neck, with the rest mainly on the trunk and lower limbs. ; Solitary, shiny, red nodule with large telangiectatic vessels. ; Often multiple, usually on the upper trunk and shoulders.
