Abstract : A 3-year-old male Thoroughbred serving as a Korean racehorse named RAON PORTEOUS presented with acute lameness concomitant with edema and fever in the right carpal joint after completing a horse race. She continuously seeks professional development to remain current on issues relevant to veterans and their families, especially those in higher education. Sara also works to support veterans and their families through collaborations within the university and in the communities, as well as the TTU Military and Veterans Alumni Network. She loves to spend time with family, especially her little boy, Asher. ; Adam McKee Branch : U.S. Air Force Dept : Office of People and Values, Adam is Assistant Vice President of the Office of People and Values and has been at TTUHSC since 2022. He commissioned into the United States Air Force in 2006 as a Personnel Officer. His assignments first took him to Beale AFB California, receiving the opportunity to serve as a section commander before a short tour to Dover AFB Delaware working at the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations Center. Adam then received the opportunity to teach AFROTC at Kansas State University as the Operations and Recruiting Flight Commander. Before his discharge in 2014, he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. ; Chris O'Dell Branch : U.S. Army Dept : Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, Chris is currently the Director of Clinical Operations in the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences with the TTUHSC School of Medicine. He entered the U.S. Army in 2003 where he served as a 19K (Tanker) in 2nd BN 8th Cav 1st Cavalry Division stationed in Fort Hood, TX for 5 years before serving in an MLRS unit in San Angelo for one year in the Texas National Guard. Chris took part in OIF 2 in Baghdad for 12 months and then in OIF 6-8 at Camp Taji, North of Baghdad for 16 months. In 2008-09 Chris left the Army and began his academic career which would span 10 years; taking him from Midland, TX to Snyder, TX and ultimately here in Lubbock. His interests are Public Health, Public Policy, and helping veterans stay focused on their academic and career goals.
