Subject, Educational Goal ; Practical Class in English (related to major studies), The professional terms used in the automobile industry are mostly in English as the industry started in Germany and the United States. Thus, students must improve their reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar and basic conversation skills by learning essential English (related to the main subject) in order to keep pace with the increasing specialization and globalization of the industry. ; Kinetics, As a class that covers the motion of an object, this class aims to teach students about the composition of tools, displacement, speed, interpretation of acceleration, link tools, etc., and how to apply these elements to automobiles to learn about the dynamics of automobile motion and make them the design basis of automobile components. ; Automotive Air Conditioning Systems, This class is designed to deepen students’ understanding of the structure and principles of air conditioning systems in order to create a pleasant indoor environment for vehicles, and to equip them with professional technical skills based on an efficiency test of an air conditioning system. ; Practical Class on Automobile Painting, This class provides students with theoretical and practical training in plate work, putty work, painting and polishing to create a beautiful vehicle exterior. ; Practical Class on Diesel Engines, This class aims to provide students with practical training in the structure and operating principles of diesel engines, and the disassembly, inspection, measurement and maintenance of various equipment, etc., and to equip them with the ability to maintain a diesel engine through training in injection high-pressure pumps and injectors. ; Practical Class on High-tech Diagnosis, This class aims to equip students with professional maintenance skills, including the ability to diagnose and fix the broken parts of sensors, the ECU of other systems, and the engine ECU of vehicles by mastering the use of scan tools or tune-up equipment. ; Automobile Combustion Engineering, This class is designed to help students learn about the spray, vaporization, and combustion processes of fuel within a combustor, which affects the performance of automobile engines, and analyze the flame spreading process within the combustor and the exhaust gas generated by combustion. Students will master basic theoretical knowledge about engine performance by calculating thermal energy from combustion, etc. ; Automobile Design, This class aims to help students understand the development process of automobiles through phased and systematic education on the initial master plan, vehicle layout, vehicle specifications, vehicle design, prototype development, vehicle testing and evaluation. ; 3-Dimensional Design Basis, Using CATIA (Computer Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application), this class aims to enable students to design simple parts among vehicle components and to cultivate sophisticated design abilities relating to strength calculation and specifications, etc. ; Practical Class on Chassis Electronic Control, As electromagnetic control methods have recently been adopted for thesteering system, suspension system, braking system, and transmission of diversevehicles, this class is designed to equip students with the professional skills requiredto diagnose and repair defects by mastering how to use scan tools and tune-up equipment. ; Practical Class on Marketing Management, This class aims to cultivate students’ practical skills by providing them with actual field training, and to provide comprehensive education on marketing strategies and the marketing environment, including the management and marketing functions of modern society, marketing concepts and systems, market structures, analysis of consumer preferences, analysis of business relationships, relationships between distribution agencies and consumers, market fluctuations, etc. ; Automotive Noise & Vibration, This class is designed to help students understand the basic principles of noise vibration, which is one of the most important elements in the quality of modern automobiles, identify the causes of noise vibration in an actual car, and improve their ability to establish measures or alternatives. ; Practical Project 1, Students are given opportunities to apply the academic skills they acquire during the classes of the Automotive Engineering Dept. as much as possible. This class consists of practical projects in which the students are required to develop the skills and products needed at industrial sites by conducting research in groups with a professor. ; Automotive Alternative Energy, Currently, various new and renewable energies are being used as alternatives to fossil fuels that face depletion due to their indiscriminate use. This class aims to broaden students’ understanding of future alternative energy sources for vehicles by analyzing and understanding the pros and cons of all the forms of alternative energy that will or may be used in the future. ; 3-Dimensional Design Application, Based on basic 3-dimensional design, this class aims to teach students how to design complex systems among the components of vehicles and to cultivate their site adaptability by improving their ability to design finished products based on strength calculation methodologies, etc. Using finite element methods, students will learn how to obtain the stress and deformation rate, which occurs when applying external force to simple automotive parts, and determine whether they are applicable or not. It also aims to enhance students’ design ability by teaching them to calculate the stress & deformation rate using other materials or stresses according to design changes. ; Practical Class on Automobile Tuning, As technology can change the basic performance of a car, this class is designed to helps students acquire master automotive performance improvement skills by applying various techniques for changing intake and exhaust systems, the size of cylinder bores, and connecting rods, and techniques for mounting high-camshaft & turbocharger, etc. on actual vehicles. ; Automotive New Technology, Diverse new technologies are being applied to automobiles at such a rapid pace that it is difficult to respond to them. Accordingly, this class aims to equip students with the ability to respond to new technologies by learning about and understanding the latest technologies that will be applied to vehicles in the near future. ; Automobile Management, To provide an effective automotive maintenance service, customer management and corporate governance are as important as specialized technical skills. As such, this class aims to teach students techniques for running and managing an automotive maintenance business or other similar business in an efficient and systematic way. ; Practical Project 2, Students are given opportunities to apply the academic skills they acquire during the classes of the Automotive Engineering Dept. as much as possible.
