But essentially, a stage manager is responsible for the production that you're seeing on stage, in terms of maintaining the artistic integrity and the practicalness of just calling cues. ; I have a team of two assistant stage managers who assist me as well, and we take turns calling the show and working on the deck. If you likened it to a conductor of an orchestra, we're sitting at a desk with a headset on, with TV monitors in front of us, having different shots of the show, and we literally call all the cues.
